Sanjib Chattopadhyay

সঞ্জীব চট্টোপাধ্যায়


One of the most prolific writers of the twentieth century, Sanjib Chattopadhyay, was born in 1936. He completed his academic degree from Scottish Church College, Kolkata. His writing genre includes satire, spirituality, fictions and he wrote many novels and short stories. He used to write for children too and presented his literary work in a metaphoric manner. The central character of his writings was often an old man. Some of his notable works are 'Swet Pathorer Table', 'Lotakombol', 'Shakha Proshakha', ‘Cancer’, ‘Besh Achi Roseboshe’, 'Kolkata Achhe Kolkatatei', 'Shiuli', 'Duti Chair' and many more. This prestigious writer was awarded with 'Ananda Puroshkar' (1981), 'Banga Bibhushan' (2012) and 'Sahitya Academy Award' (2018).
